We've all heard the cliché "a healthy body houses a healthy mind" and thanks to scientific research we now know this for a fact. Also, the opposite is equally true: a healthy mind equals a healthy body. If we learn to be in control of our emotional association to food, we will automatically take care of our bodies. The instant satisfaction we get from junk food caused a lot of people to make pleasurable association (in their subconscious minds) to these foods that lead to overeating and addiction.
However, how many people really know how bad our food chain is at the moment? How many people dont know that most of our foods are produced with fertilizers containing only 11 minerals and trace elements where the full spectrum has 92? How many people have knowledge about the base ~ acid balance? (pH value). How many people do you think heard about the omega 3 ~ 6 balance? How many people really believe that food is the best medicine to cure a disease and preventing them from becoming ill in the first place?
Do your best to stay away from high fructose corn syrup. It is currently being rebranded as corn sugar, so look out for that as well. High fructose corn syrup was introduced into foods as a substitute for refined sugar. Unfortunately, this particular ingredient is not good for your body, especially in mass quantities (which is easy to get since it is included in most foods). If you consume too much high fructose corn syrup, your body will lose its ability to function normally, and that's a prime reason to keep away from it.
What I see in this world today in the supermarket is a food chain with at the most 20% non-organic whole food. The other 80 percent has a range from non-benefitional to a real danger for your overall health. Some foods get way to much credit to be named food!
You will learn so much during the visit to your holistic vet! I learned that if they lick their paw pads, its probably a food allergy. If their nose becomes discolored with lighter pigmentation, probably a liver disorder. If their coat becomes dry and itchy, switch food from dry to canned or cook it yourself, with a little olive oil.
